Our Mission
Our Story
I’ve been an Exercise Physiologist for more than 30 years- look, here’s the confirmation from ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia.)

I completed a degree in Sports Science at Edith Cowan University before completing a post-graduate diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation at University of Western Australia, both in Perth.
I started my working life, in this domain, at the Arthritis Foundation in Perth and I have been an AEP (Accredited Exercise Physiologist) ever since, working in Perth, Canberra and Darwin. My patients have experienced chronic medical conditions, sports injuries, along with work and motor vehicle accident injuries
I have worked as an Occupational Rehabilitation Consultant with serving and former military personnel and Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident clients.
I love what I do!
How Things Have Changed
There have been many change for Exercise Physiologist since I first started out but I’ll outline two:
Firstly, Exercise Physiologists are an established profession in the Australian healthcare scene. No mean feat as we started out humbly as an idea of a few, forward thinking, Professors in Exercise Science Departments in our Universities.
Secondly, there has been an enormous volume of research that has established, and continues to confirm, the value of exercise for general health along with the treatment of chronic diseases and injuries.
My “Ah Ha” moment”?
My ambition, upon graduating from ECU, was to work in elite sport and, fortunately, I have been able to work with some top athletes in Cricket, football (Soccer) and Rugby Union.
My goals took a complete change of direction when I saw how people with arthritis responded to exercise. Additionally, I was inspired, listening to Dr. Ken Maguire (Rheumatologist and Sports Physician) give the medical seal of approval for exercise for people with arthritis and other chronic medical conditions.
Can We Help You?
Whilst exercise, in my view, is a treatment modality without peer, it’s not for everyone. Some people have negative views about their exercise experiences and/or believe that exercise treatment won’t work for them- they are not psychologically ready to exercise. If you’re in this group, you might like to read the information on this website.
If, on the other hand, you are ready to take an active part in your health, you’re in the right place? Read on!
